The Epic Journey of Loose Diamonds is one for the History Books

Loose diamonds can be seen in jewelry stores across the world. There are plenty of certified loose diamonds mined every year for the world to enjoy. These diamonds have come a long way to reach the jewelry stores you see them decorating. Nearly 100 miles under our feet is where these loose diamonds begins their journey as simple carbon atoms. It takes many decades for the elements to line up perfectly in order for these stones to be created. When they do, it sure is an epic sight for us! The next time you are in a jewelry store browsing these gorgeous stones, take a minute to thank Mother Nature for allowing this to happen.

Some people may wonder how some diamonds get their color. Most people are familiar with white diamonds, which is a lack of color, but few know about diamonds that are blue or pink. The reason why some diamonds have different colors can be attributed to the various elements that they are exposed to within the earth during their formation. For example, if the carbon atoms are exposed to boron during their formation, the diamond will have various amounts of blue. The world is full of surprises just waiting to be discovered!
